Every Operating System (OS) needs to have an application launcher of some kind. Microsoft Windows has had the Start Menu ever since Windows 95. It’s still there in Windows 10, and the Microsoft HoloLens is no different. Yes, even the Microsoft HoloLens has a Start Menu.

There’s so much focus on Holograms and Microsoft Holographics with the Microsoft HoloLens, the root user interface for launching apps seems to get lost in the mix. So, I decided to record a short video demonstrating how to bring up the HoloLens Start Menu using the “Bloom” gesture, and show what the Holographic Start Menu looks like.

Simple, but an extremely necessary piece of the Microsoft HoloLens user experience.
